The Central and Eastern Europe looks back to a long history of oil and gas production, therefore most of the basins could be considered as mature from this point of view. However, giving the ongoing and increasing demand for securing new hydrocarbon reserves, the main effort in exploration has been oriented towards the deployment of new concepts and technologies. Danubian Energy Consulting team is focused in offering sustainable step-out exploration programs by integrating and reinterpreting the large volumes of existing data into new alternative geological models. As the expected mean size of discoveries in such projects is forecasted as small to medium, and because most of the basins in the area are characterized by rather complex settings, either tectonic (thrust belts, pull-aparts) or stratigraphic (foredeeps), the use of all available information in order to elaborate a rational data acquisition program is a critical pre-requisite for the success of our clients’ projects. In the framework of classic field rehabilitation projects that usually reach the step-out exploration phase, Danubian Energy Consulting is able to extend the detailed knowledge gained at the field scale to exploration, and thus to provide important insights to the exploration program. Our team has also been assisting our clients in basin-scale exploration aiming to define new, deeper plays that were neglected in the past. In this respect, the senior members of our team are applying their academic regional structural skills to industry projects attempting to identify frontier opportunities.
